1. What This Service Is

Austin Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections related to Austin, Texas. It links to custodians and describes access routes. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with an Austin office, Travis County department, court, archive, or Texas agency.

2. Acceptable Use

Use the service and anything found through it only for lawful purposes. You may not use it to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm a person.
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit fraud, identity theft, or another unlawful act.
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions concerning credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or another covered purpose.
  • Scrape, systematically copy, or republish the service at scale.
  • Interfere with site operation, access controls, or security.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq. Nothing provided here, including a linked search result, is a consumer report. It may not be used to determine eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.

4. External Services

Government portals, archives, library collections, and sponsored tools have their own terms, availability, fees, and privacy practices. We do not control those outside services and are not responsible for their content, operation, pricing, or data handling.

5. No Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty that content is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular use, or that an external portal will return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages connected with use of this service or a linked source, including decisions made from a record.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the service operators from claims, demands, damages, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief excerpt with attribution is permitted. Republishing complete pages or systematically copying the material is not permitted.

9. Changes to Terms

We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after posting means you accept the revised terms.

10. Restricting Access

We may suspend or block access, without notice, when a user violates these terms or misuses the service.

11. Texas Law

Texas law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs requests for existing public information from governmental bodies, subject to its exceptions, redactions, estimates, and rulings. It does not turn this private reference into a government custodian.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
